Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical Records Specialist to join our Patient Financial Services team at Kettering Health Network. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the release of medical records, working closely with payors, and collaborating with PFS staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of medical records requests.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PFS staff to process payor medical records requests, utilizing knowledge of Epic application functionality
- Monitor and manage ROI/PFS work queues, maintaining quality and productivity standards
- Serve as a subject matter expert on required software programs used to upload medical records, facilitating communication with payor customer service representatives
- Analyze and reconcile weekly payor medical record request reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Release of Information department processing, preferably with knowledge of Epic application functionality
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Epic EHR applications
- Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including PFS staff and payor customer service representatives
- Flexibility and adaptability in navigating changing processes and procedures
