As a Valve Repair and Maintenance Professional, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of industrial valves at SGS New Zealand.

This full-time position involves carrying out work associated with the assessment, repair, modification, checking, testing, and certifying of industrial valves in accordance with SGS-IVE Quality Management System (QMS) and its procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform valve refurbishments and overhauls or related work as requested in line with the QMS, customer requirements, and given priorities.
  • Conduct thorough examinations, maintenance, and repairs on various valves, including ball, gate, butterfly, safety relief, and other types.
  • Implement strict adherence to schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and ASME National Board standards that apply to the job.
  • Accurately complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
Requirements:
  • Min. two years of experience in valve-specific roles.
  • Three years of industry experience, preferably in Petrochemical, with a keen interest in engineering.
  • Hold a trade certificate in mechanical engineering, fitting, or turning.
  • Have a solid understanding of API526/527 and relevant industry standards.
  • Experienced in valve maintenance, including block, ball, gate, control, and relief valves.
  • Skilled in machine and tool mechanics required for valve repair.
  • Proficient in orifice measurements and gasket assembly.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
