Job Title: Electrophysiology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Consultant to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Wellington Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex electrophysiology studies and procedures.

About the Role

The Cardiology Service is a secondary and tertiary service providing comprehensive care for patients in the central region of New Zealand. Our team includes:

  1. Cardiac Diagnostic Testing
  2. The Heart and Lung Unit
  3. Cardiac Interventional Suite, providing procedures such as coronary angiograms, coronary intervention, and CTO
  4. Balloon Valvuloplasty and TAVI
  5. PFO/ASD/LAA Closure
  6. Pacing, ICD and CRT implants
  7. Electrophysiology Studies, 3D mapping and Ablation
  8. Pacing/ICD follow-up service, including remote monitoring, travelling clinics, and on-call service
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have extensive practical and technical expertise in understanding cardiac arrhythmias and their mechanisms. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining a focus on patient care while upholding professional standards
  2. Performing complex electrophysiology studies and procedures
  3. Collaborating closely with physicians and administrative staff to deliver high-quality care
