The Family Therapeutic Practitioner will provide intensive clinical treatment services to children, young people and their families with serious and/or complex mental health, behavioural and/or emotional needs. Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is a long-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in the heart of Wiradjuri Country. We work to achieve this through the provision of culturally appropriate medical and well-being services for Aboriginal people and their families.
Your Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a demonstrated ability to deliver services in a culturally inclusive and respectful manner to Aboriginal families. You should hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in psychology, psychotherapy, social work, or other related mental health field. Applicants with a proven track record in the area of FFT who possess a Diploma and can demonstrate they meet the criteria are also encouraged to apply.
You must be willing to be trained and participate in all activities associated with the FFT-CW model. You should also possess strong attention to detail, commitment to data collection, emotional intelligence, high-level interpersonal skills, time management skills and flexibility with the ability to handle crises. Additionally, you must have a track record of working collaboratively and competently to negotiate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. A current driver's license and ability to travel within regional areas are essential.
