The Southern District Health Board (New Zealand) has an exciting opportunity for a Midwife Manager to join our Maternity Team at Dunedin Hospital. As a leader in the field of midwifery, you will have the chance to shape the future of healthcare in our region.

About the Role

The Midwife Manager will provide clinical and operational leadership to the Maternity Team, ensuring that the service meets the changing needs of our community and health system.

You will work closely with our Clinical Midwife Managers, Postnatal Midwife coordinators, Midwife Educators, Midwife Clinical Coaches, MQSP coordinators, MCWCP coordinators, Service Managers, and Director of Midwifery to achieve our goals.

We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, culturally safe environment for all patients and staff. Our aim is to improve, promote, and protect the health of our region.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Maternity Team.

- Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve our goals.

- Ensure the service is responsive to the changing needs of our community and health system.

Requirements

- NZ Registered Midwife with a current annual practicing certificate.

- Proven leadership skills and ability to think outside the square.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment.

- Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you.

- Commitment to promoting best practice and standards of midwifery care.

- Confidence with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
