**Job Description**

We are seeking a registered teacher to join our centre in Upper Hutt on a fixed-term basis with the potential to become permanent. This role will involve teaching and caring for up to 33 children, including five under twos.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and caring for up to 33 children, including five under twos.
  • Implementing a relationship-focused, play-based learning environment.
  • Supporting children's autonomy and exploration.
  • Working collaboratively with the centre team to promote continuous improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification.
  • Strong communication skills, initiative, and team spirit.
  • Passionate about supporting children in a relationship-focused, play-based learning environment.
  • An understanding and commitment to respectful teaching and caregiving.
  • An interest or in-depth understanding of Emmi Pikler and Reggio Emilia, or Te Ao Māori is a bonus.
