About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual with strong clinical, research, and academic skills to fill this Fixed Term position starting as soon as possible until October 2025. As a Consultant Radiation Oncologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, participating in after-hours on-call rosters, and contributing to clinical services in outreach clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality radiation oncology services to patients in the Canterbury region
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call roster and cover clinical services in outreach clinics
  • Contribute to clinical research and academic activities within the department
  • Maintain close links with the University of Otago's Christchurch School of Medicine and participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold the FRANZCR or an equivalent qualification that enables registration as a specialist radiation oncologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You will also require excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. Experience or interest in performing brachytherapy procedures, stereotactic body treatments, and clinical research would be highly desirable.
