Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Protection Technician to join our team. As a key member of our distribution network, you will be responsible for testing and commissioning substation assets while prioritizing Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S). This role requires a strong work ethic and a collaborative approach to completing tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fault finding, installation, testing, programming, maintenance, and repair of substation and electrical assets
• Managing substation, transformers, and switchgear maintenance, repairs, and installations
• Collaborating with engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues using manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other relevant resources
• Conducting quality checks and audits as required

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant Electrical certificate or license
• At least 5+ years of industry experience in power assets
• Registration as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer from the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB)
• Practical experience working on HV, substations, or power transmission systems (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and technical knowledge of industry standards and codes
