Sport New Zealand is seeking an innovative and motivated professional to lead a resource development project that will transform the way we work within the Intellectual or Learning Disability community.

Project Overview

In partnership with Special Olympics NZ through the Strengthen & Adapt programme, this project aims to develop quality, fit-for-purpose learning content that supports parents, clubs, teachers, and sporting organisations to confidently and effectively coach and include someone with an intellectual or learning disability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Research existing educational material across the sector and lead collaborative working groups to ensure the development of high-quality resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current materials and identify gaps in resources for various learning settings.
  • Host content development workshops to test and define content development needs and opportunities for respective target audiences.
  • Facilitate with key stakeholders regarding the positioning of Sport NZ offerings to complement existing material.
Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a background in either education settings, educational resource development, and child development. A strong understanding of the Intellectual or Learning Disability community and experience in developing educational resources are essential.

Salary and Benefits

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months with a salary of approximately $83,000 per annum (pro-rata based on 32 hours per week). The successful candidate will also receive a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
