About the RoleWe are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Field Maintenance Fitter - Underground Mining to join our South Island Mining Services Team in Macrae's Mine.
The successful candidate will operate on a 7/7 roster and report to the Orica Supervisor, providing breakdown technical support and field maintenance for all of Orica's mobile plant at the Macraes' Mine site.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Orica sites with scheduled servicing, repairs, breakdown support, and general servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery;
- Assist the Territory and Site Managers to manage a maintenance plan for the equipment at their site(s);
- Continually reassess risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes and take appropriate corrective action as required;
- Provide field support for clients by performing training, reviews, and maintenance support on-site;
- Undertake Explosives Magazine Keeper responsibilities including inventory management; Material handling and transferring, including the management of ANE emulsion and storage.
- Trade certification in Automotive/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Diesel Fitter or equivalent;
- Auto electrical and CAN-BUS systems knowledge is advantageous;
- Hydraulic systems knowledge is advantageous;
- Previous experience working on heavy vehicles such as mining equipment is advantageous;
- Ability to obtain a Controlled Substance License (CSL);
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer relation, and problem-solving skills;
- Driver's license required; Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license is advantageous;
- Self-motivated worker who can manage their own hours and workload with a strong attitude towards safety and quality of service;
- Industry experience with Mining and Blasting is advantageous.
