About the Team

The Policy and Regulatory Services Group provides strategic direction and thought leadership for DOC and for the conservation system. It is charged with leading reform of the conservation land system. The team leads advice across Treaty policy matters, and significant economic and tourism policy initiatives such as the Milford Opportunities Project.

The team brings together expertise across DOC, other government agencies, Treaty partners and stakeholders. We are looking for someone who can leverage this collective expertise to drive meaningful change in the conservation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to drive policy reform and improve conservation outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Ministers, Treaty partners, and industry representatives.
  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance their policy skills and expertise.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and issues in the conservation sector, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
