**About the Role**

The New Zealand Government is seeking a highly skilled Built Environment and Energy Transition Specialist to join its team. As part of the Climate Change Commission, this role will play a critical part in driving climate action in Aotearoa New Zealand.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide leadership and management oversight for the development and delivery of high-quality analysis and advice on emissions budgets, policies to reduce emissions, national risk assessments, monitoring emissions reduction and climate adaptation plans, and/or other reports.
  • Lead and develop a team of analysts with differing levels of experience and seniority to deliver high-quality and influential advice.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, inclusiveness, challenge, and debate in the team and within the Commission.

**Requirements**

  • A successful record of effectively managing people, including leading through change.
  • In-depth experience of management issues (people, resources, systems, and processes), including managing work and people on projects involving collaboration across teams and business groups.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of a range of research, evidence, and analytical methods, including emerging and innovative approaches and frameworks.
