The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking a Government Adviser to join our OIA team in Wellington City. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on the Official Information Act (OIA), Privacy Act, and Ombudsman correspondence.

You will work closely with colleagues across seven portfolios, including Fisheries New Zealand, Agriculture Investment Services, and Biosecurity New Zealand, to ensure that responses to OIA requests are accurate, timely, and meet the requirements of organisational policy and relevant legislation.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the machinery of Government, including agency-Minister dynamics and interactions with the Parliament. They will also possess strong communication skills, be able to work under pressure, and manage ambiguity effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-moving team at the forefront of our Government Services Directorate and contribute to the Ministry's mission to support the food and fibre sector.
