About the Role:
As a Risk Reduction Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting communities across the Te Hiku Region by providing risk reduction advice and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake technical work including fire investigation, fire engineering briefs, evacuation schemes, regulatory compliance, education, and stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver risk reduction technical programmes and initiatives aligned with national programmes, policies, processes, tools, and systems.
- Support the delivery of compliance activities, including fire permits and evacuation scheme approvals.
- Collaborate with the wider Community Risk Team to deliver tools, programmes, events, and technical advice to industry and communities.
- Work with Iwi, Maori, and other key stakeholders and community organisations to prevent fires and build long-term sustainable community resilience.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying relevant legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Adept at building collaborative working relationships with diverse groups, including Iwi and Maori, community organisations, and stakeholders.
- Ability to convey complex information to various audiences.
