Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic individual to lead our government office accommodation portfolio. The Principal Portfolio Manager will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and expertise in managing our commercial property assets.

About the Role

The role holder will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver on project outcomes, build credibility with public sector agencies, and negotiate resolutions that meet broader system and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and plan an extensive property portfolio considering supply and demand side dynamics, taking a 5-20 year view.
  2. Work with occupier/corporate real estate portfolios and understand how property supports wider business objectives.
  3. Build strong agency relationships based on trust and credibility and use this to influence agencies to approve options that achieve system outcomes.
  4. Demonstrate a sound and up-to-date understanding of the business of government agencies and engage effectively at senior levels to build trust and credibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience managing and planning an extensive property portfolio.
  • A comprehensive understanding of how government office accommodation fits within the property system.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to bring innovative and effective options to the table.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse market data, financial reports, and lease terms to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent financial and commercial acumen when applied to key property and investment decisions.
