  • A tertiary qualification in communications or a related field
  • No less than eight years' experience in public relations and communications, either in-house or as a consultant
  • Experience dealing with reputational risks, issues management, and responding to media queries
  • Ability to advise senior stakeholders and establish credibility quickly
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to write concise copy for media, speeches, long-form articles, and social media
  • Strong knowledge of house style, proofreading, and editing, particularly for a legal audience
  • Understanding of tikanga and the ability to communicate in a culturally competent manner
  • Familiarity with the legal environment and groups within the broad legal sector
