Mental Health Specialist

About the Position
Behaven Kids is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Lincoln, NE.
This is a full-time opportunity requiring a Master's degree from an accredited educational institution in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field. You must also hold the required mental health credentials and licensure as required by the state of Nebraska.
The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and treatment planning skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess the bio-psycho-social needs of patients
- Determine the most appropriate level of care for each patient and make referrals as necessary
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans following company policies and procedures
- Supervise clinical staff as needed (LIMHP/LMHP)
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
- Participate in regular clinical and peer supervision to ensure high-quality care and adherence to professional standards
- Meet documentation deadlines
- Deliver flexible, weekday hours of direct patient care services through intake evaluations, individual and group therapy sessions
- Engage with patients to address their concerns and priorities
- Maintain high-quality care aligned with Behaven Kids policies and procedures
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited educational institution in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
- Provisional Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP), Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP), or Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) licensure
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent discretion, judgment, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience working with children is a plus
