Job DescriptionThis is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for helping others. As a volunteer ambulance and events team member, you will work as part of a team to provide patient care and support, respond to emergency calls, and cover community events.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency calls and provide patient care and support
- Work as part of a team to deliver exceptional patient care and support
- Cover community events and provide patient care and support
We offer NZQA recognised training and will give you all the support and education needed to make you safe and effective in the field. Once accepted, your online and classroom training and workbooks will take around 6-9 months to complete.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course (if full licence held for less than 12 months)
- To be 18 years of age or over
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status
- A clean police record
- To be able to pass Hato Hone St John assessments - physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments and an interview
- To meet our Medical Standards, a summary can be found here
- To be available for regular duty and training (approximately two 12 hour shifts and one training session per month)
