**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a seasoned Digital Health Strategist to provide senior strategic leadership across data and digital systems in New Zealand's public health sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing large-scale data and digital programmes of work, as well as designing work programmes and project planning to ensure delivery on time and within budget.

As the Chief Advisor for Disease Surveillance, you will lead the Notifiable Disease Information Ecosystem (NDIE) Programme, coordinating efforts across various agencies and overseeing programme management, data integration, surveillance tools, and analytics.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to implement future-focused solutions that improve national disease surveillance and pandemic preparedness.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the health sector, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop data services that reflect equity priorities and Treaty of Waitangi obligations.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of programme and management methods, including techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes.
  • Skillful communicator with experience in strategic communications and engagement planning.
