Social Work Practitioner and Educator

This role combines the responsibilities of Placement Coordinator and Kaiako for the Bachelor of Bicultural Social Work programme. As the Placement Coordinator/kaiarataki, you will manage fieldwork placements, ensuring students are matched with suitable agencies and supervised throughout their practicum.
In the Kaiako role, you will deliver a noho to Year 4 then Year 3 to prepare students for their 12-week services placement. Following each year group, you will hold 14 weeks then 16 weeks of 4hr tutorials in the evenings. Lesson planning for tutorials is an essential part of evaluating student progress and gaining feedback.
For this role, we require a strong understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) and a commitment to participating in cultural activities and developing an understanding of Mātauranga Māori.
