Job Overview

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the achievement of the Ministry's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on financial accounting management within the Ministry and identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.

The successful candidate will have experience in reconciliations, control, process improvement, risk management, and technical accounting expertise in relation to PBE IPSAS, PBE IFRS, and other relevant NZ GAAP applicable accounting standards. You will also be required to mentor and coach other members of the team, ensuring their professional development and growth.

Key Requirements
  • Experience in financial accounting, including revenue in a medium to large organisation
  • Technical accounting expertise in relation to PBE IPSAS, PBE IFRS, and other relevant NZ GAAP applicable accounting standards
  • Able to mentor and coach other members of the team
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment

Salary: $96k - $115k
