Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Medical Care Professional to provide medical treatment to students in a school setting when the regular school nurses are absent.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage school clinic visits, intervene with actual and potential health problems, and assist with decision-making.
- Manage and support chronic health conditions.
- Dispense and monitor physician-ordered medications and/or treatments.
- Manage and use equipment and supplies ordered by a healthcare provider for everyday or extended use in the school setting.
- Provide and/or appropriately delegate health care procedures.
- Establish and maintain professional communication with all stakeholders which is ongoing, timely, and respectful with consideration given to professional confidentiality.
- Maintain individual student health records adhering to documentation standards.
- Create a caring, trusting, personal climate conducive to learning.
Requirements
- A current RN license.
- A Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification through fingerprints prior to employment.
