Job Description:

As a Speech Language Therapist with the New Zealand Government, you will be responsible for providing speech therapy services to patients in various clinical settings.

Your key duties will include:

  • Assessing and managing swallowing and communication disorders
  • Implementing assessment procedures according to Speech Language Therapy protocols and professional standards
  • Establishing and implementing treatment plans and interventions in consultation with the multidisciplinary team, clients, and their families/whanau
  • Educating clients, their families/whanau, and the wider multidisciplinary team on relevant information to facilitate wellbeing

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Registration with the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists Association (NZSTA)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the healthcare setting
  • Strong skills in assessing and managing swallowing and communication disorders
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the multidisciplinary team
  • Experience and competency in videofluoroscopy preferred
  • Experience with Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) desirable
