About the Role

  • Create and modify detailed 2D CAD drawings of custom millwork products using AutoCAD.
  • Produce accurate shop drawings for production, including dimensions, material specifications, and assembly details.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to select appropriate materials and finishes that meet design requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including material lists, construction details, and assembly instructions for use by the production team.
  • Assist in managing project timelines by ensuring that design work is completed on schedule and aligns with overall project goals.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts in designs, ensuring smooth hand-off to the fabrication team.
  • Evaluate designs to ensure they meet quality standards and are manufacturable within the production capabilities.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in architectural drafting, engineering, industrial design, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in CAD drafting or engineering design, preferably within architectural millwork, woodworking, or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and more.
  • Familiarity with millwork materials (wood, metal, glass, composites) and construction techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to create precise, clear, and accurate technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
