About the Role: We are seeking an Otolaryngologist for our sub-regional service. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients in the greater Wellington region, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals. You will have the opportunity to contribute to research, education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Description: As an Otolaryngologist for our sub-regional service, you will be responsible for a range of acute and elective general ORL surgery. You will also have opportunities for research, teaching, and supervision of registrars in the otolaryngology training rotation.

About the Team/Service: Our department consists of ten general and subspecialist surgeons, providing a wide range of services to the greater Wellington region and tertiary level care for the wider region. We work closely with oncology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, paediatric and neurosurgery services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients in the greater Wellington region
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Contribute to research, education, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Supervise and teach registrars in the otolaryngology training rotation

About You: To be successful in this role, you will need to be vocationally registered in Otolaryngology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), hold FRACS or equivalent qualification, and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ. You should have relevant experience and training in otolaryngology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
