**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team at Gisborne Hospital. As a Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing occupational/physiotherapy services in a transdisciplinary setting for the Child Development Service.

The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Occupational or Physiotherapy, hold a current full driver's license, and possess experience working with children with disabilities. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for this role, as you will work closely with clients, adolescents, parents, and healthcare professionals.

In this position, you will assess and manage children who are at risk of, suspected of having or have confirmed disabilities referred for diagnostic assessment. The key requirements include:

  • Providing assessment and ongoing management of children with multiple challenges related to communication, sensory, learning, physical, and behavioral aspects of their development.
  • Working collaboratively with a transdisciplinary team to provide support and services to children and their families.
  • Developing effective treatment plans and implementing interventions to promote optimal outcomes for children.
