The Job
We are looking for a skilled Restraint Coordinator to join our team. As a Restraint Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with guidelines and promoting a safe and responsible approach to the use of restraint within our organization.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading team-based training for challenging teams and/or teams working with individuals with complex support needs
- Maintaining adequate understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, De-escalation Techniques, Trauma-Informed Practices, Sensory Modulation, and other strategies for minimizing the use of restraints
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective restraint minimisation and safe practice policies
- Providing guidance and support to staff on the use of restraint and related practices
- Conducting regular reviews of restraint incidents and developing plans to prevent future occurrences
- Developing and delivering training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills in restraint minimisation and safe practice
You Will Be Ideally Suited To This Role If You Have:
- Registration as a CPI Safety Interventions Trainer or the potential to become certified as a CPI Safety Interventions trainer
- A valid full driver's license
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
