The Job

We are looking for a skilled Restraint Coordinator to join our team. As a Restraint Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with guidelines and promoting a safe and responsible approach to the use of restraint within our organization.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  1. Leading team-based training for challenging teams and/or teams working with individuals with complex support needs
  2. Maintaining adequate understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, De-escalation Techniques, Trauma-Informed Practices, Sensory Modulation, and other strategies for minimizing the use of restraints
  3. Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective restraint minimisation and safe practice policies
  4. Providing guidance and support to staff on the use of restraint and related practices
  5. Conducting regular reviews of restraint incidents and developing plans to prevent future occurrences
  6. Developing and delivering training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills in restraint minimisation and safe practice

You Will Be Ideally Suited To This Role If You Have:

  • Registration as a CPI Safety Interventions Trainer or the potential to become certified as a CPI Safety Interventions trainer
  • A valid full driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
