Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Qualified Deck Hand to join our deep-water fleet, a league of 12 fishing vessels operating year-round from Cape Reinga to the Ross Sea. As a member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations on deck, working closely with our experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with trawling operations, including setup, hauling, and shooting of gear.
  2. Maintain the deck and ensure the safety and functionality of all equipment.
  3. Participate in regular safety drills and adhere to strict safety protocols.
  4. Perform repairs and maintenance on fishing gear and vessel equipment.
  5. Load and unload supplies and catch, adhering to proper handling and storage procedures.
  6. Provide support to factory operations as needed.

About You
To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong commitment to health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should be physically fit, willing to learn, and able to adapt to the demands of life at sea.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Possess an Advanced Deckhand Fishing Certification (ADH-F) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate previous experience working on a fishing vessel or in a related maritime role.
  • Show evidence of your ability to handle the physical demands of the role and life at sea.
