About the Position: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Playcentre Assistant to join our team in the Wellington Region. As a key member of our team, you will support the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care services, promoting the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the Playcentre philosophy and values, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in early childhood education and care.

About the Role: You will work closely with our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child-led play and positive guidance. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of session plans, ensure the safety and well-being of all children, and maintain accurate records and reports.

  • Main Responsibilities: Support the delivery of session activities and events, develop and implement session plans, promote the Playcentre philosophy and values, and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Key Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of early childhood education and care principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Reo Maori, and experience in leading and managing teams.
