As a Business Development Manager, you will be joining at a crucial time for the business, working in a dynamic Bids team involved in every new major business development opportunity. You will collaborate with the team to introduce and constantly develop best practice bid processes, take ownership of the production of our informal proposals & credentials documents, oversee and maintain a central library of firm information, and be responsible for the upkeep of our credentials document creation system.

You will lead on the delivery of bids and tenders, respond to PQQ invitations, involve yourself in major bids, and take responsibility for preparing winning proposals across a wide range of specialist sectors. Your key skills and qualifications include experience of working in a bids / business development team, ideally in legal or similar professional services, knowledge and experience of best practices in bidding, including bid processes, evaluation of opportunities, developing win strategies, project management, commercial acumen, including pricing and risk, working with technical authors to convert knowledge into high-scoring answers, a creative mindset with a desire to help our lawyers stand out through the look and feel of our proposals as well as the quality of the proposition, robust time and project management, with the required ability to manage and prioritise busy workloads, ability to communicate effectively, with a confidence to constructively challenge and influence senior lawyers, excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, a good eye for detail: strong design and layout skills are advantageous, strong knowledge of all MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, experience of Adobe InDesign and basic knowledge of print process is an advantage, and a flexible approach to working hours and travel to the office to meet the demands of a project.
