Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Taranaki Base Hospital.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be working as part of a dynamic team with nine other radiologists, offering a range of modalities including CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art technology and an integrated regional RIS/PACS system.
This is an excellent opportunity for a medical imaging expert to challenge themselves and take on leadership roles within the department. We have several leadership positions available, including:
- Director of Training: Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is in the process of becoming an accredited training facility with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology.
- Clinical Lead Breast Radiology
- Clinical Lead MRI
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting and interpretation of diagnostic images
- Leadership and mentoring of junior staff members
- Contribution to departmental meetings and decision-making processes
Requirements:
- Vocational registration from the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for such registration
- Recognised post-graduate qualifications from another country
- Desirable skills include sub-specialty interest in musculoskeletal MRI, general interventional radiology, CT colonography, cardiac CT, or nuclear medicine
