About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Cardiologist to join our dynamic team at Waikato Hospital, a tertiary referral and teaching cardiac centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a cardiologist with comprehensive training and experience to work in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology, including EP studies, ablation, 3D mapping, device implants, outpatient clinics, and ward management.

The successful candidate will be part of a well-established and dynamic team of 17 Cardiologists and 5 cardiac surgeons. The department supports 5 regional secondary care hospitals and performs over 300 EP studies and 600 device implants each year.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conducting EP studies and ablations using various techniques, including RF, PFA, and Cryo
  • Performing device implants, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators
  • Providing expert care in outpatient clinics and on wards
  • Collaborating with our experienced EP team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Pursuing ongoing research programmes in the department

About You

We are looking for a cardiologist with advanced training in Cardiology (FRACP or equivalent) and eligible for provisional vocational/vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
