About The Role

This role involves performing various tasks ranging from skilled to highly skilled work in maintenance, installation, and servicing of frontline electrical equipment for Industrial and Distribution Electrical services group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance work according to job work lists and agreed schedules
  • Installing cables, transformers, switchgear, switchboards, distribution panels and other electrical equipment
  • Jointing cables up to 11KV; Servicing 11kV transformers and switchgear
  • Completing planned and unplanned maintenance tasks within given time and budget
  • Ensuring accurate records are maintained and processed in a timely manner

This position requires a strong understanding of drawings/plans and ability to interpret them. Emergency repairs must be completed in a timely and orderly fashion.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in Electrical Industrial and Distribution Services industry and be familiar with the following equipment: Transformers, Switchgear, Switchboards, Distribution panels.

You must hold a current NZ electrical registration, recognised trade certification and current practising license. Strong written and spoken English communication skills are necessary to translate instructions into the tasks at hand.

Safety is a top priority, and you will need to maintain and demonstrate up-to-date understanding of Ventia quality, Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) systems, policies and procedures.
