The University of Auckland's Maori Graduate programme offers a unique opportunity for Maori graduates to develop their skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment. Through our 12-month rotational programme, graduates will gain hands-on experience in various specialist areas, including Human Resources, Project Management, Marketing & Communication, Student Engagement & Success, Information Technology, Innovation, Data Analysis and Planning, Libraries, Commercial Operations, Events, Finance, Property, Construction & Facilities Management, and Kaupapa Maori.

In each rotation, graduates will become embedded in a team where they will gain practical experience in that specialist area, supported by experienced colleagues. This programme offers a supportive, yet flexible environment to develop technical, soft, and employability skills that will serve you throughout your career. You'll have the opportunity to deepen connection with your people, your whenua, and your reo through the programme.

Our Programme Highlights

  • A starting salary of $64,000 per annum, with increases throughout the programme
  • A high level of support throughout the programme, with a dedicated Kaimahi to support you, mentor, technical experts, career development Kaiawhina, as well as a number of skill development, career development, and self-exploration sessions

About You

You'll have graduated in the last 2 years or be about to graduate with a bachelors degree (or higher). Your most recent degree/qualification must be from the University of Auckland, and you must have finished your studies by the time the programme starts. You will whakapapa Maori / be of Maori descent. You'll be confident taking the initiative and working collaboratively as part of a team. You'll be handed real responsibility and expected to get stuck in but support will be there for you when you need it.
