About the Role

This is a permanent part-time opportunity based at Hillmorton Hospital. You will work within a supportive team of experienced multidisciplinary professionals, providing treatment for individuals aged 18-65 years who suffer from a wide range of mental disorders.

The Adult Community Mental Health Service provides comprehensive care to patients with complex needs. As a clinician in this role, you will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary team, working closely with referrers and colleagues from other agencies.

You will draw on your mental health experience to deliver assessment and support to clients and their families/whanau, utilizing evidence-based treatments such as Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT).

This position offers ongoing supervision and support to maintain and develop MBT practitioner skills, along with opportunities for teaching, research, and consultative-input both within the wider organisation and regionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive assessment and support to clients and their families/whanau
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide individual and group treatment interventions
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Masters in Clinical Psychology or overseas equivalent
  • NZ Registration as a Psychologist with a clinical scope of practice
  • Previous experience in Adult Mental Health field (preferred)
  • Experience treating Borderline Personality Disorder (desirable)
