Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher- Resource to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and meeting the diverse needs of students with moderate and severe disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), conducting assessments, and providing support to students and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs in consultation with parents and IEP team members.
  • Conduct assessments and develop strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and school policy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for Maine Department of Education certification in Special Education.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with students with moderate and severe disabilities.
  • Awareness of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) principles.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
