About the Role

As a key member of the Canterbury District Health Board, you will provide strategic leadership to drive healthcare improvement initiatives and enhance patient outcomes. The Allied Health Consultant – Service Improvement Planned Care is responsible for implementing planned care improvement initiatives across the system, in line with the Allied Health Strategic Plan and organisational priorities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of best practice service delivery outcomes for patients and their whanau.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Allied Health Christchurch Campus – Waitaha Canterbury to deliver a sustainable, high-quality service that contributes to the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Provide senior allied health leadership to facilitate the ongoing development of best practice, promotion of inter-disciplinary models of care and ways of working, alongside professional and practice development.
  • Lead service improvement initiatives in Planned Care to relate to overall improvement of planned care delivery across the system.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and effective Allied Health Leader who has proven experience in delivering successful stakeholder engagement and communication strategies and initiatives that promote Allied Health planned care improvement initiatives.

You will have significant experience in project and/or programme management with responsibility for developing and managing high quality, multiple stakeholder projects and planned care service improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Registered Allied Health professional with a current annual practicing certificate.
  • Proven experience in a senior Allied Health Leadership position.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical work experience in a relevant Allied Health specialty with in-depth knowledge of the health sector and issues affecting tangata whaiora and equality of healthcare.
