The Operational Policy and Regulatory Systems (OPRS) team is a shared service within the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery Group, working with various teams to deliver impactful projects.
We span across operational policy, from regulatory change to supporting legislation implementation. You will work on machinery of government processes, such as fees reviews and omnibus Bills, through to designing services for New Zealanders.
As a Senior Advisor, you will lead complex projects with autonomy in a collaborative environment, building strong relationships and mentoring others to deliver results.
Some recent examples include:
- Establishing the New Zealand Claims Resolution Service in response to the Earthquake Commission Inquiry.
- Reviewing fees for the Motor Vehicle Traders and Plant Variety Rights regimes.
- Developing an internal compliance approach for the Unit Titles regulatory system.
We operate on a portfolio basis, primarily supporting the Market Integrity and Employment Services branches.
Key Skills and QualificationsWe are seeking candidates who possess:
- Experience leading project delivery and analysis of complex problems.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to navigate machinery of government processes and understand regulatory frameworks.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and taking a proactive approach to problem-solving.
