About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sample Operations Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising members of the Sample Reception and Preparation team and providing leadership to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise members of the Sample Reception and Preparation team
- Provide leadership to ensure the team operates efficiently and effectively
- Ensure samples received at the laboratory are logged into our Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS) within 24 hours of receipt and with accuracy
- Liaise with customers and technical experts to ensure testing requirements are adequate
- Ensure samples are prepared on time and ready for testing through active scheduling of work and communication with other supervisors
- Ensure the team are trained and competent in their roles and help troubleshooting as required
- Prioritize urgent samples when required to meet customer requirements
- Ensure all staff are strictly adhering to regulatory quality assurance procedures
- Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date
- Actively promote, lead, and develop staff through goal setting, feedback, and coaching catch-ups
- Be actively involved in all the day-to-day improvement activities
- Complete special projects as and when required
- Contribute to our safety culture by leading Safety and Wellbeing initiatives, maintaining high safety standards at all times, conducting safety internal audits, and leading by example
