Social Work Role in Te Whatu Ora

We have exciting opportunities for social workers to provide interventions across acute medical services, including renal care at Middlemore Hospital. Our comprehensive social work service supports individuals with acute, chronic, or palliative medical conditions requiring hospitalisation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support patients throughout their admission
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop bi-cultural social work practice
  • Provide social work support in inpatient and outpatient settings

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • New Zealand registered social worker with a current practising certificate
  • High level of verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Social work experience in a health environment
