About the Role

This Workshop Technician position is responsible for supporting the Department of Mechanical Engineering's teaching and research activities by manufacturing parts and assemblies.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with the Workshop Team Leader to manage current and upcoming projects.
  • Sources materials and tooling necessary for projects with internal staff and external suppliers.
  • Utilize workshop equipment like lathes, mills, drills, and welders to create parts and assemblies according to provided specifications.
  • Offer guidance to students and academic staff on manufacturing processes.

This role requires a strong commitment to upholding cultural values and working knowledge of Health and Safety rules and regulations.
