Physical Activity and Nutrition Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator. In this role, you will work closely with rangatahi, whanau, and caregivers to develop and implement programs that promote healthy lifestyles and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive physical activity and nutrition program for rangatahi.
• Work collaboratively with rangatahi, whanau, and caregivers to achieve health and wellbeing goals.
• Create project plans and ensure timely delivery of key objectives.
• Foster strong relationships with local iwi, hapu, and community organizations to support program development and delivery.
• Collaborate with national training providers to develop and implement programs that align with our organization's mission.
• Organize events, workshops, and activities that promote physical activity and healthy living.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and manage budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Provide education and health promotion to enhance wellbeing and support long-term health outcomes.
• Work with whanau and caregivers to empower and support rangatahi in achieving their health and wellbeing goals.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A diploma in sport and recreation or similar, desirable but not essential.
• Experience in preparing exercise plans and working with at-risk populations.
• Proven leadership and coaching abilities, with a strong understanding of Maori culture and tikanga.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Full, clean driver's licence and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• A positive attitude, adaptability, and clear boundary-setting abilities.
• Non-smoker/vaper status.
• A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the local community and its needs.
