The role you will be playing is crucial in helping us achieve this goal. As a Speech Language Therapist, you will be part of a trans-disciplinary team, working closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other specialists to support children's speech, language, and communication development.

**Your Key Responsibilities**

  • Work with children and young people who have complex needs, supporting them to develop their speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with families, whanau, caregivers, schools, and early childhood educators to provide integrated support services.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of effective learning support strategies, promoting social inclusion and maximising learning outcomes.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification that meets the requirements of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists Association.
  • Specialist knowledge of theory, research, and practice related to speech-language, child, and human development, and learning and behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families across various settings.
  • A commitment to understanding and applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenua.
  • An ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information and co-ordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting.
