We are seeking a talented Senior Advisor, Learning Design to join our team at the New Zealand Government. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing quality teaching and curriculum products and services, underpinned by research and evidence.

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

The Senior Adviser, Learning Design will work closely with the Lead and Principal Advisers to design quality teaching and curriculum products and services, underpinned by research and evidence, for those using Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Whāriki mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa, specifically Te Ara Māori.

  1. Rangaranga Reo ā-Tā: structured approaches for pānui and tuhituhi;
  2. Pāngarau: structured approaches for pāngarau projects, inclusive of the Pāngarau trial Years 7 – 8, development of resources to support wāhanga ako, and Hāpai Ako (Accelerative learning).
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating with the Lead Advisers to develop products and services that support the successful implementation of the projects.
  2. Designing and developing high-quality products and services that reflect guidance from specialists across all learning areas of the curriculum.
  3. Communicating complex ideas clearly and persuasively to colleagues and senior leadership.
  4. Providing expert advice on the early learning and schooling education system.
  5. Developing a strong understanding of Government priorities and expectations for project delivery.
