About the Role
Health New Zealand - Lakes invites experienced mental health professionals to join its Adult Community Mental Health & Addiction Services team in Rotorua. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate team that prioritizes people-first care, embedding Te Ao Maori principles in everyday practice.
The service operates with a strong therapeutic approach, collaborating closely with community addiction providers. While based in Rotorua, services extend to Taupo. As a specialist clinician, you will provide intervention for individuals to optimize recovery and quality of life, as well as case coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing community mental health care based on current best practices
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Ensuring consent-driven inter-disciplinary referrals
- Working collaboratively with internal and external partner organizations
- Developing sound legislative knowledge, particularly pertaining to the SACAT Act
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A registration as a Nurse or other suitably qualified health professional
- Experience in community mental health and/or addictions environments
- Sound assessment, psychosocial intervention, and talking therapy skills
- Competency in all facets of assessment, holistic care, and multi-disciplinary teamwork
