Collection Curator Role Overview
Auckland Council's Botanic Gardens is seeking an experienced Collection Curator to join the Regional Operations team on a permanent full-time basis. This critical role requires expertise in plant collection management, preservation, and development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Curate a portfolio of plant collections that meet agreed standards and customer expectations.
  • Strategically introduce and assess new plants to enhance the collection's impact.
  • Mentor and inspire apprentices, students, volunteers to develop a skilled workforce.
  • Collaborate with nursery staff to coordinate plant propagation and production needs.

Requirements
  • Minimum Level 5 diploma in a relevant field or higher.
  • At least 5 years' experience in horticulture, preferably in botanic gardens.
  • Excellent relationships-building skills.
