Peer Advocate Coordinator

**Key Responsibilities**
As a Consumer Advocate, your key responsibilities will include:
- Building professional and trusted relationships with individuals and their whanau
- Highlighting feedback received in agreed and relevant channels
- Completing reporting requirements
- Facilitating house meetings or resident association meetings
- Running focus groups or surveys from time to time
- Becoming a conduit for accessing various supports
- Coaching others to become better listeners
- Supporting complaints, review, and advocacy processes
**Requirements and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will have lived experience of recovery from mental distress and addiction, excellent skills as an active listener, and the ability to empower others to take charge of their own life. You should also have 2-3 years working within the mental health sector, related field, and previous experience in a Peer role. Excellent oral and written communication skills, comfortable using MS Office products, and experience conducting surveys, focus groups, or similar research activities are also desirable.
