About Us

Nz Playcentre Federation is a well-resourced centre seeking a vibrant educator to support our tamariki, parents and whanau in facilitating child led play.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced facilitator to work alongside our Centre whanau to open the sessions and guide activities. You will facilitate learning for our members and tamariki while role modelling child led play and positive guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support whanau in the use of Te Reo Maori and encourage participation in the Playcentre Education programme.
  • To increase qualification levels at our centre and demonstrate the benefits of participating to whanau.
  • To mentor and support parents/whanau/members/tamariki as they explore and learn with their children during these special years.

Requirements:

  • A Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.
  • A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to achieve this.
  • Desirable skills and experience include knowledge and understanding of Te Whariki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, passion for Playcentre and our philosophy, strong interpersonal and communication skills, passion for empowering and engaging with all whanau, knowledge of ECE regulations, and ability to use technology.
