At Pamu Farms Of New Zealand, we are seeking a highly experienced Forester to manage our forestry operations in the central north island. As Forestry Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our forests, including afforestation, forest regeneration, and harvesting. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our forestry practices align with our sustainability goals and provide long-term benefits to the environment and future generations.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in silviculture, including planting, pruning, thinning, noxious weed and pest control, disease management, land preparation, road and track maintenance, and wilding pine control. Experience with alternative and native species management is also essential. In addition, you will need to have excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop and manage operational forestry budgets and negotiate contracts with contractors.
As part of our dynamic team, you will work closely with farm teams, forestry contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that our forestry operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. You will also be required to maintain accurate records and reports, and to provide regular updates to senior management on the progress of our forestry projects.
