Job DescriptionThis is a permanent role located in Wellington or Christchurch, with a focus on providing expert HR advice and support to managers, team leaders, and supervisors within the Department of Conservation.
You will contribute to the development and application of HR policies and procedures, while participating in change management and improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities- Providing HR Advice: Provide expert HR advice and support to managers, team leaders, and supervisors within the Department of Conservation.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and application of HR policies and procedures.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including union representatives and public sector agencies.
- Task Management: Proactively manage HR tasks, escalating issues when necessary and ensuring compliance with DOC's standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have a solid understanding of DOC systems and processes, and/or generalist HR skills. You will also possess:
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver on objectives with high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Cultural Competence: Awareness of the Māori Crown relationship and the ability to incorporate te reo Māori and tikanga in daily interactions.
- Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in HR or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- HR Knowledge: Knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and the ability to offer solutions to complex HR challenges.
The successful applicant will receive a salary range of $79,656 - $100,639 based on their relevant skills and experience.
